Bitcoin mining operating system
For a maker or hobbyist, having a creation up and running in an hour or less is quite gratifying. There are three separate elements to this project; hardware, software and server side accounts. None of the elements require any more ability than the ability to plug in cables, open software, select files to install, and sign up and sign in to accounts. At the end of the build, one will see bitcoin being mined and paid out in ones bitcoin wallet.
In the vein of a maker runs the desire to use again that which begs for a task and for this build all but one of the hardware devices may found in any technically inclined home. For everyone else there is Amazon (and with Prime, the build can begin within two days). The one mining specific hardware is also available on Amazon.
A Raspberry Pi was selected for its ultra low utility usage (3.5w), but one could reuse an old computer, laptop, or game console just as well, less the power savings.
2GB is the minimum requirements for the mining OS. Use what is available; 2GB cards can be harvested from smartphones and camera boxes, as manufacturers often ship products with low capacity cards which go unused. A micro to sd card converter may be required.
Some hubs found around the house, even though powered may not work, for they have to handle not just the miners (2.5w each), but also the Raspberry Pi and cooling fan.
Hubs, will come with a power supply (wall plug) and a usb cable to plug into the computer, but the computer must also be powered, which plugs nicely into the same hub (two separate times), with a micro (pi) to usb (hub) cable.

I'm interested in doing some Cryptocurancy mining with Radeon GPUs.
If I have 4: Sapphire ATI Radeon 5830 1G GDDR5 how many watts for a PSU will I need to power them?
The recomended is 500 Watts …ar as I can tell there is no 2000 watt power supplys on the market but feel free to prove me wrong.
What would be the minimum needed for a Computer dedicated to Bitcoin/Litecoin mining?
Thanks :)
I'm guessing this is a Bitcoin mining rig. Realistically a 1200 watt PSU would be the minimum for this rig, if you plan on running it full tilt 24/7, a 1500 watt until would give you more headroom and run cooler to boot.
