eCigs / Vaping: Hardware Upgrades Anyone?  October 22, 2013 – 17:22

So,when I had to order some more eJuice the other day,I decided it was time to get some new hardware. Well, some might say that I went a little crazy and bought more stuff than I needed. I wouldn’t disagree, there was really only one item that I needed as I’ll explain…

KangerTech Mini ProTank II

So,first up is the KangerTech Mini ProTank II. In the photo to the right I have it attached to a simple 400 mAh battery. And,that’s what I bought it for. I wanted to have something small that fit well in my hand, and would be easily hidden in a pocket. The major reason for this is that I like to have something smaller, closer to a cigarette in size for when I am driving. I have to drive about 20-30 minutes twice a day,and while I had adjusted okay to using the SiD in the car,I always felt like there was a chance that something could go wrong. Oh,did I explain that I drive a manual (stick shift) car? And that I typically vape with my right hand, which I also have to use for shifting? Yeah, that makes larger devices a bit more difficult to handle while driving, and trying to shift gears. I’ve gotten used to smoking while driving many years ago,so something like this just feels more natural to me.

I also said that I wanted something that would hide more easily in a pocket. I have a situation where I have to go between buildings at work, frequently. It’s nice because I can get outside and have a quick vape while I am on my way to a meeting. However, with the SiD or larger eGo batteries, they were more difficult to put in a pocket. At least they were more noticeable. I didn’t like that,so the smaller setup is better.

Before this I had a dual-coil cartomizer that I kept attached to a 400 mAh battery. It vaped well, but it was more fussy about refilling with fluid, and occasionally I would get one that would leak in my pocket. The Mini ProTank is an improvement in that it is better sealed, and more convenient when it comes to telling how much fluid is in it.

There is only a couple of annoyances that I have with the Mini ProTank II. First: drip tips. For some reason quite a few of the drip tips that I have don’t seem to fit it all that well. And these are drip tips that I’ve had for quite a while (almost a year now),and I haven’t had any fit problems with them on any other tanks. So,that’s my only draw back. Fortunately, there are some that fit well enough that I do have some to choose from.
