Bitcoin mining Quad core
Hello BHW members, Yesterday I heard about Bitcoin going up from $190 to $240, so I thought I should also get some. I searched for Bitcoins and then I found that there are some ways to get Bitcoins. I planned to get my hands dirty and Mine Bitcoins using my GPU and Brain (lolz).
I have an Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 5700GT at home which I bought 2 yrs back and I can generate unlimited number of Windows Azure Trial accounts for free (Brain), so I thought this hardware specs are on par to mine some Bitcoins in a period of Week-month.
Bitcoins:
Then I installed GUI Miner from (guiminer. org) on my home PC and joined Slush's Pool as it is very hard to mine alone.
Then I tried to install GUI miner on my Windows Azure VPS 8 Core - 14GB RAM but it doesn't started mining and till now it stays dormant doing nothing.
Litecoins:
Today I heard about Litecoins (~$4), as they are not very strong but can also be mined.
Is there any senior member who can guide me (or the rest of BHW noobs family) on how to mine for bitcoins/litecoins from Windows Azure.
I am looking for advice from anybody who is mining coins from Azure VPS. I am also open to any piece of advice and even willing to share my earnings if you can wake up my dormant MINER.

I was wondering how much it would cost to build a computer? The only thing I'm really wanting to spend the most money on is the graphics card. Most everything else I'm not too worried about as long as it's able to support …ing to use it for much for anything else, maybe just a little bit of internet surfing here and there but thats about it. All I want to know is a ball park of how much it would cost and any other tips would be appreciated!
Barebones from Tiger is probably the cheapest, but you have to look at their parts very carefully. Read the reviews too. Same with Newegg, beware.
Put a Linux OS on it, that will save wasting money in Windows.

Dont get a GPU, get an asic, they work much better, and use alot less power, I have a radeon 4850 (100 Mega hashes) the lowest asic (90 dollars) gets 40 times the hashes (4-4.5 Giga hashes) and only needs 2 USB ports and a few watts of power:
